Energists, Stop The Ego TripEMO and EFT Master Practitioner John Blosse from Brighton, UK writes: I'm sometimes asked what I can heal people of, or what my success rate is. My answer to this is 'I don't heal anyone and the success rate is not mine. It doesn't and never will belong to me'. What's more, if someone tells you that they can heal your issue then they are coming from ego and your potential for healing will be limited.

As EFT therapists we don’t heal anyone. We may think we do and go around wearing our high success rate like a badge of honour. If we do this we are missing an opportunity for our own growth as a therapist and more importantly for our clients healing. Create a triangle with potentiality at the top When we work with a client in a therapist/client relationship it’s easy to think that our own, limited knowledge of EFT plus whatever other healing modality we may be proficient in will help heal the client. Of course, in EFT we come, or should come, from the belief that the client knows themselves more than we ever will. How many of us ‘call’ potentiality, or the higher self (or whatever we would like to call healing potential) into the equation. Going into an EFT session and allowing the universe to take over is extremely powerful. In fact, it will take our EFT client sessions from linear one to one form to a triangle of healing far greater than we could ever imagine. Stop the ego trip As EFT therapists I’m sure we’ve all had times when our ego has taken over – ‘You’ve got a pain in your shoulder, come over here I’ll do EFT on you’. We are in a caring profession. We care about others and want to help them. It shouldn’t be about handing out our business card with our name on the front to each person we think needs our help, or asking the person to come over and sit down while WE get rid of their pain using this great technique we have learned. By doing this we think we know what the other person wants or needs – but did we ask them? More importantly, where is God or the higher self in all this? Who is doing the healing, you? I don’t think so. We are the map, the client knows the problem and the higher self provides the healing If you are reading this and thinking ‘I know this anyway, I always do the right thing in my EFT sessions’. That’s ok then, but can I offer one suggestion if I may – the next time you offer EFT it may help to sit back and imagine something greater than you doing the healing. Really imagine that. The potential will be boundless. John Blosse, May 2013
