I'm not anti-science, just pro-reality. The map can never be the territory but some maps are just better than others. My map has rivers in it. That comes in handy when you try to figure out what a waterfall is, a flood, or ... where to get your water for your soup.
I like that metaphor of the rivers. It's also connection, to other cities along the way. And lands beyond the horizon once you get to the ocean 🙂

I think is a real problem in science, and especially so if the map = maths. There are too many mathematicians who have their heads stuck in their beautiful equations, not noticing the drift between themselves, reality and anything ultimately useful. I'm pro-reality too!
