Coming Alive - Three Examples of Energy Art

"We all experience energy and emotion in different ways, and when I draw, paint, write, or take photographs I am trying to capture an event in such a way that brings you more than what the eye sees."ย

Magical photography, digital art and an inspirational energy poem by Kirsten Ivatts.

What is Art?

As an Energy Artist, art is my way, through any medium, of giving others an experience of a magical moment in time, an event I had, or an emotion I felt.

We all experience energy and emotion in different ways, and when I draw, paint, write, or take photographs I am trying to capture an event in such a way that brings you more than what the eye sees.

I am trying to capture an experience, a feeling, the magic of something, whether that thing is abstract or physical and I want to share it with YOU!

The photo attempts to bring you the experience I felt in that time and that place.

The art work is a digital piece called Coming Alive that tried to capture the feeling of the energy I experienced in the process of coming alive!

And here is a piece of poetry as I contemplated the turning of the New Year.

ย

Someone New

It is hard to review the year,

When the one who began it,

Has changed form so many times

That she seems like a long lost lover

Dancing in the mists of time.

I held her as she wept tears of mourning,

For a friend so quickly taken,

And this new death changed her,

Bringing her closer to her own mortality.

And it strengthened her.

And so she became someone new.

And as each month progressed,

She found she was more than the sum of her parts,

She became more human,

More connected,

Yet more disconnected from the alien world she navigated.

And once more she became someone new.

This one struggled in her newness.

She fought against what her heart knew.

Like a wild animal trapped in front of her own reflection,

She couldnโ€™t look away.

Gradually she surrendered,

To soul, to body, to heart, to love.

And she smiled.

She had fought for too long.

And once more she became someone new.

Quiet descended with winter,

And a need to reflect, to ground, to explore this new skin.

To open new eyes and see the everyday world,

Differently.

Each aspect taught the whole, the One,

To live, truthfully, from the heart.

The One thought she knew this

She lived by it,

She taught it to others.

She didnโ€™t know THIS.

But she is grateful, this One, for this gift.

There is no need in her to look ahead,

To make plans, to take action, to set ideas in stone.

Not yet.

She sits, quiet and still,

She smiles, in and out.

She loves without reserve, in gentle warmth,

And she relishes the exquisite, intense, excitement of each moment.

And once more she becomes someone new.
