Delete social media data

The Guild of Energists Ltd (The GoE) provides social media publishing tools to members. When you connect a Facebook Page, we store the Page identifier and name, its access token, and the posts and queue information you create in the GoE Social Media tool. We use these details only to connect the Page and publish the content you choose.

Remove a Facebook Page connection

1. Sign in to your GoE account.
2. Open Social Media and choose the Social Networks tab.
3. Choose Delete next to the Facebook Page and confirm.

This removes the saved Facebook Page connection and access token from the GoE Social Media tool. Posts that have not yet been published are stopped. Content already published remains on Facebook; remove it from Facebook if you want it taken down there too.

Request deletion of related information

To request deletion of other Facebook-related information held by the GoE, contact our Data Protection Officer through the GoE contact page and include “Facebook Social Media data deletion” in your request. We will verify the request and respond in line with our Privacy Policy. Information we must retain for legal, accounting, security, or other documented obligations may be restricted from use instead of erased; we will explain this if it applies.

If you cannot sign in, use the contact page above and ask the Data Protection Officer to remove your Facebook Social Media connection.
