New GoE Forum Software - Trainer and Pro Groups Moving Away From Facebook

For the past few years we've been using Facebook Groups to facilitate this, but with privacy concerns, visibility problems, advertising, distractions and some members really disliking Facebook - we decided to create our own system.

As well as being able to communicate easily, the new software also shows lots of information about the person making the post at the bottom of the page. This includes a nice listing of events, articles, contact information and contributions to the GoE Library.

The first edition of the software has gone live and we'll continue to upgrade it and add features as members send in their suggestions. To use the forums, you just login to the website using your normal GoE account details.

The groups moving away from Facebook between 1st Sep and 1st Oct are:

• GoE Trainer Group on Facebook ➡ GoE Trainer Forum on GoE.ac/Forum
• GoE Professional Group on Facebook ➡ GoE Professional Forum on GoE.ac/Forum

To help with the transition and to test the system, we'll export some threads posted on Facebook over to the new forum software.

After each of the above Facebook groups is officially closed on 1st October 2018, we'll:

• Decline new group members from joining
• Stop new posts being made in the group
• Leave it online for existing group members to search old posts
