New GoE Forum Software - Trainer and Pro Groups Moving Away From Facebook
The GoE has developed new forum software (see: GoE.ac/forum/) for our main website to make it easier for members to communicate with each other, ask questions, network on joint projects, provide support and stay up-to-date with latest developments in Modern Energy. This article discusses how the GoE Professional and GoE Trainer groups will transition away from Facebook between 1st September 2018 and 1st October 2018.

For the past few years we've been using Facebook Groups to facilitate this, but with privacy concerns, visibility problems, advertising, distractions and some members really disliking Facebook - we decided to create our own system. As well as being able to communicate easily, the new software also shows lots of information about the person making the post at the bottom of the page. This includes a nice listing of events, articles, contact information and contributions to the GoE Library. The first edition of the software has gone live and we'll continue to upgrade it and add features as members send in their suggestions.
