Someone asked: “Why do we abuse ourselves?” “Where does this pattern originally come from?” It usually starts with training. “I love you, so I’m going to punish you.” Parents say it. Teachers say it. Authority figures say it. Your brain records those experiences. Later in life, the brain repeats the pattern internally. You beat yourself down before someone else can. You hold yourself back so you won’t be attacked. You punish yourself so you won’t be disappointed. From the brain’s perspective, it’s a survival strategy. But here’s the key point. You’re not broken. Memories are programs on how to act. And if a memory creates a program, that program can change. Watch Part 2 where we go deeper into how these patterns can change.
