Phyllis McDonald-Matty grew up in a small fishing village in Newfoundland, Canada. She became a nurse at 17. Worked for nearly three decades. Strong, competent, self-driven. The kind of professional who showed up completely for every patient, every shift. And at home she was someone else entirely. Subdued. Submissive. Silent.
