Robert Gene Smith has posted a YouTube video:
Eckhart Tolle said the ego is just an accumulation of experiences. That is actually smart. Then what he did was create what I call a straw man out of it. A straw man clothes stuffed with straw, put out in a field to keep crows away. It looks like a man. It cannot fight back. It cannot do anything. And then he blamed all your problems on it. In my world, the ego is just a survival system. That is all. The ego says: be nice to people and they will be nice to you. The ego says: drive on the right side of the road so you will not get hit. The ego says: brush your teeth and you will keep all of them. That is the ego. It is not the problem. So why did they make it the villain? Because here is what I notice. If you think highly of yourself, if you are responsible for your own happiness, your own successes, your own failures, the worst thing a group could want is for you to think on your own. They want it coming from them. Every group operates this way. Their own specific language. Their own set of rules. Follow them or you are out. And if they keep you from getting your value from yourself, if they make you believe you are the problem, you are easier to manipulate. This is how groups hold people. Not through force. Through the belief that without them, you cannot trust yourself. You can trust yourself. You just have to know how to work with what is actually inside you.
