Animals’ thoughts on sterilization is a topic that comes up more often than you might expect in animal communication sessions — and it’s one that many guardians feel curious, emotional, or even conflicted about. From speaking with multiple animals, I’ve noticed that their perspective can be very different from how humans tend to view reproduction. Many animals do not associate fulfillment or identity with having offspring in the way we might assume. Instead, they often focus on connection, companionship, and the present moment. Some animals express relief when hormonal cycles are no longer driving intense physical or emotional experiences, while others simply show acceptance and trust in the decisions made within their human–animal partnership. Every animal is unique, and there is never a one-size-fits-all answer. My intention in sharing this is not to tell anyone what they should or shouldn’t do, but to offer insight into perspectives that animals themselves have communicated during sessions.
