** News: The Association becomes a Learned Society

At the EFT & Energy Psychology Conference in November 2010, members of the association voted unanimously to form a Learned Society dedicated to the furtherment of the theory and practice of meridian and energy therapies.

** News: The Brand New GoE Practitioner Certificate

As part of The GoE's exciting new changes that are taking place in 2011, we are pleased to be able to show you the brand new GoE Meridian Energy Therapies Practitioner Certificate, which will be sent out to all new Practitioners. Current Practitioners are also able to have their Certificate reissued in the new style for a nominal fee.

As well as sporting a great new design, the new Certificate also now features “EFT Level 2” in accordance to Gary Craig's new guidelines since his retirement.

** News: Best-Selling Children's EFT Book Gets Full Colour Makeover

Tapping for Kids: A Children's Guide to EFT Emotional Freedom Techniques by Angie Muccillo has been one of the best selling EFT books in the world since it's release in 2008.

The book, which features the wonderful “Palace of Possibilities”, has some great illustrations which were previously black & white in the paperback edition. Not any more! Now the illustrations have been brought to life with beautiful colour to catch any child's imagination.

** News: First Presentation at the 2011 EMO Energy Conference Announced

** Blast from the Past: Treating Symptoms as Real by Ed Grimshaw

This month's Blast from the Past comes from December 2009 and looks at the importance of Practitioner's treating patient's symptoms as real.

Ed Grimshaw writes: “In working with clients and seeing people with a variety of issues, one thing that has changed in recent years is treating the client’s presenting problem as real. This was pioneered in the 70s by Virginia Satir (Family Therapist) then by Richard Bandler (NLP originator). They treated the literal meaning of what was said by the client as a true statement of affairs. Of course going back before then and even now with some of the current medical thinking, “the pull yourself together school of thinking” does not get anywhere, its destructive and simply invalidates the poor sufferer.”
