Battling The Artefacts

In EvP, any object that is more than its material value is called an artefact. Artefacts are material manifestations of an event, and there is no exception to that. This being so, artefacts are particularly stubborn and difficult to deal with when it comes to space clearing, home harmony, Feng Shui or simply keeping one's living quarters under control.

In this article, I am going to share a battle royal with artefacts, and how Events Psychology can help us not just regain control over the material objects in our lives, but helps us understand ourselves much better in the process.

A room in my house which had lain unused for some years was finally being tackled in order to restore it and make it useful again.

In this room, there was a cupboard, and in this cupboard were a number of troublesome objects.

Troublesome, as in, "I can't throw it away. I don't know where to put it. I don't know what to do with these things, only that I can't leave them there where they are, SOMETHING has to be done about them ..."

Now artefacts play a very important role in Events Psychology. If an object is close to an event, in the presence of an event, or may even have been thought to cause an event, the object becomes charged and serves not just as a reminder to that event, but as a standing portal, keeping an open channel to that event as long as the object is an artefact.

Through this open channel or portal, the past streams into the present; and this can cause tremendous problems if the aim is to live a future orientated, exciting, surprising, challenging life that has evolution built in.

Artefacts are always linked with Guiding Star type events - this is ONE MOMENT of happiness of some kind.

This is very precise, as all of Events Psychology is. A seashell from a holiday to the beach is not about the entire holiday, but only about one flash moment within the time span of the two week holiday. Even if there were many flash moments of Guiding Star type memories or experiences, this one shell relates to only one of these moments amongst them.

• I propose that the reason artefacts are created is because the event wasn't processed completely and remains unresolved.

In Energy Psychology terms, we are talking about a lightning strike through the energy body which was not completed, but went far enough to cause major changes that are generally felt as wonderful, or beneficial AT THE TIME.

The artefact is a practical reminder that we're not done with that energy movement, that it needs further evolution. When the evolution is complete, the artefact returns to being an object, and at the same time, we regain our power to handle that object, to place it, remove it, destroy it, sell it, or do whatever it is that is the most useful in the overall context of our respective lives.

So let us return to my troublesome cupboard, containing troublesome articles which are artefacts rather than just objects.

I am going to pick two examples from the dozen or so that were present.

The Elephant Artefact

The first object is a cat-sized sculpture of a running elephant, made in the early 20th century, from plaster and painted in oil colours, on a wooden board. This artefact is heavy, extremely fragile and takes up a lot of space. In and of itself, it is an interesting object and may be considered in energy magic to be functioning as a guardian.

I focused on the object and asked myself where the event was. It immediately came to me.

I was about 6 years old and got up early in the morning, before my parents did. I would wander about the house to find something to do. On this occasion, a fine summer's morning, I found this elephant sculpture in a place that had previously been empty - it had just appeared over night.

It startled me and for a moment I thought it was a real baby elephant, or some kind of magical creature - even remembering this now, I can feel the flash of excitement, magic made real, wonderment from back then. Later on I discovered of course that it was "just an elephant sculpture" but the sense of magic associated with it never went away ...

Looking at this now, I must say that I think the aspect was correct. The elephant is a magical object, it has strange imprints, it is artistic, someone was at work who KNEW elephants, it has an energetic existence that is exotic and quite wonderful. As there weren't any magical artefacts in my childhood home (what there might have been most likely got lost, traded, stolen or bombed in the 2nd World War) it is little wonder that the object stood out like a flare to the past aspect.

From a technical standpoint as an Events Psychologist, I can also see how the magical meeting with the elephant crashed and burned on the day - the energy movement went so far, then the aspect discovered it was "only a sculpture" after all. That's exactly the kind of half way enlightenment experience that is the hallmark of a Guiding Star, and the artefact is the reminder to finish the movement.

The WW2 Artefact

Artefact No. 2 is a stationary folder made from a German World War 2 officer's uniform jacket, containing various small hand drawn pieces of paper used by the prisoners of war to give each other birthday greetings and Christmas cards.

This was made by my father and one day found in the loft by me when I was perhaps 10 years old.

The requisite events moment is there immediately too - it happened when I took the find to my father and asked him what it was. For just a moment, the mask dropped and I was in the presence of the man. This may well have been the one and only time that ever happened in my entire childhood.

It didn't last long though and here again we have the half formed movement that was not completed and which causes artefact formation.

I resolved both of these events memories, or should I say, I evolved them using a synthesis of EMO and Project Sanctuary and the sense of relief was and is quite profound indeed.

On the psychological level, these things really needed to be resolved and the systems relating to this, freed up and put back into motion in the here-and-now.

On the practical level, I was now able to box up the stationary folder and put it away as a curious thing my children might find interesting in the future, and decided the elephant could go and guard the summer house, he'd like it in there.

The space clearing had been accomplished and a very important personal evolution was had.

What I find most freeing and enjoyable about this process is that I feel now not only in charge of these artefacts in this room, but entirely confident that I can control all of my objects now if I choose to pick up that power.

Finally, there is the thought that artefact formation can become a live, important feedback mechanism in the here-and-now, to deal with half formed energy movements so much sooner, and best case scenario, there and then when a real "enlightenment moment" presents itself. To be able to know and recognise what it is WHEN IT ACTUALLY HAPPENS must be the master key to making the most of our experiences, and gaining the most traction in personal evolution.
