Forgiveness is one of the very few word descriptions we have for a movement in the energy system that causes a dramatic change.

Even in folklore, we can hazard a guess what might happen if one was to do forgiveness right.

The heart would feel lighter; a burden would have been lifted away; there would be more clarity in thought, an expansion of horizons, and a sense that instead of re-living the past, you were stepping out into an unknown but potentially amazing future.

In general, every day life, we come upon this term “forgiveness” but rarely, and we use it rarely. The closest might be a cheated wife who has forgiven her husband for his transgressions with the secretary - or so she says, but the hard lines around her mouth tell a different story ...

We probably most often encounter the idea of forgiveness (but not the practice of it) in law and order - where there are victims, and perpetrators, and their actions and effects on the lives of the victims.

If we personally have not been victims of crimes that were prosecuted in a court of law, we might think that we have little to do with forgiveness, but once you start to dig a little deeper, you'll find the need for “forgiveness the movement” everywhere.

And when you work with it for a while, as I did about a year ago to the day now, you find that there is only one form of forgiveness - self forgiveness.

• People are egocentric.

What that means is that for each person, their "I" is in the middle and the rest of the universe revolves around it.

That's different from being selfish; a very unselfish seeming person, like the hard-working, long suffering mother who's holding a huge family together can be said to have organised a whole universe of people with herself at the center - egocentricity in action.

“This Has Nothing To Do With You!”

One of the hardest and most fruitless tasks attempted by modern psychology is to have people understand somehow that "it wasn't their fault" or in other words, "this had nothing to do with you".

Because people are so deeply, profoundly and structurally egocentric, it is an alien idea to consider that ANYTHING happens that wasn't made to happen because of something you did.

You can still see this in small children who haven't yet learned to censor the words they speak to others about what's going on inside of them - a three year old will say that daddy left because of me after a divorce; that their brother got run over by a car because they wished him dead; or that it is their fault it started to rain because they'd sang a rain song just before it started to rain.

To tell someone like that, "Actually, it had nothing to do with you," isn't just unacceptable - it's incomprehensible.

It doesn't FEEL like it didn't. Instead, it feels like ...

It was me.

This is all my fault.

There is an energy movement, triggered by conscious thought in response to the events that occur (we can be sure of that because animals who work the same as us in all respects apart from the ownership of a conscious mind), that causes feelings of guilt, or to feel guilty.

Do you know what that feels like when you know you've done something bad?

Do you feel that sometimes in your head, sometimes in your feet, one day it's in your left buttock, or at other times in your fingers?

No. You feel it always in the same way, in the same place – the feeling of having done something bad or wrong is ONE SINGLE ENERGY MOVEMENT.

• "This is my fault" is one single energy movement that covers all occasions where you think that, or know that to be so, no matter what anyone else might say to you.

  
  

Completing The Movement – The Forgiveness Transformation

The instant energy movement of "this is all my fault" is half of a movement.

Like so often we find that the completion part is missing - and that's what we apply EMO to.

When we do, a natural movement completes and you get a totally different outcome, often entirely unexpected as the experience and energy form changes IN NATURE and transforms itself and us in the process.

First Forgiveness Exercise

Find something that you know is all your fault, and you know that because you can feel that special feeling that is only there when you know you've done something bad or something wrong.

• Where is this in your body?

• Show me with your hands.

• Now evoke this movement by thinking about, remembering deeply a time when this exact thing happened so you trigger that energy movement.

• It's all your fault.

• Now quickly, and as quickly as you can, soften and flow and let that energy movement complete - through and out, out, move that energy as fast as you can, this comes quickly and it needs to leave quickly.

• Breathe out sharply to help it, move your body to help it, shake it out until it's all gone.

So that's the first time we've done that.

Notice for a moment your responses all over your body to completing that forgiveness movement. What can you feel? Where can you feel this? Have you ever felt this before? Do you want to do it again?

Take the same thing, call it up, make that movement happen - it was all your own fault!

Quick, catch it, use that powerful movement to let it sweep through and out - push it out!

Breathe it out, expel it - and again. It's your fault - really now, don't resist it, let the movement come unhindered, completely accept that energy flow as it is, and take it, ride it through and out – fast.

Now, how does that feel?

Learning The Movement

Now what we've learned here just now is a particular movement of a particular energy form through very particular channels.

• This is the forgiveness movement.

As innocent energy falls all through this room most strongly whilst I speak on for the next few minutes, and tingles and tickles every aspect, every part of your systems, I am going to tell you something fascinating before we do the next exercise.

Energy Cascades

This is something I have learned during the Project Sanctuary Masters course; and for those amongst you who are wondering what's next after EMO, that would be it of course.

We tend to think of memories and events in our lives as being these hard, identifiable things - like cans of old film in the basement, or in the attic, or wherever you keep yours.

• The truth is that “all of that” isn't here any more, whatever it was; and the only place it still exist is as INFORMATION, energy in our neurology.

Now energy can flow very fast, much faster than the fastest water; faster than the speed of light, and that's pretty fast.

The energy we always talk about, like in the energy body, hands of energy, energy data and information, the energy system and the energy mind, that's all quantum stuff and faster than the speed of light by definition - plus all those other cool things, like it all being in the same place at the same time, or nowhere at all, and of course, everything's connected.

I found out that when you trip certain memories that are all organised around the same theme, and in our case here that would be forgiveness, and you trigger these memories one after the other, rapidly, they speed up and at some point, a cascade comes into being - that's when the pictures and the sounds and the feelings come too fast to still be processed like that, and everything turns into pure energy and rushes through you, but amazingly, you still understand, you can still read it, feel it, experience it - a cascade treats the memories of a lifetime in a second.

All of them.

Successfully.

That's pretty cool.

But it gets even better than that.

A cascade doesn't just treat the memories that have already been, but also all future occurrences, because you've LEARNED THE MOVEMENT.

Whatever the topic in question, once you've learned the movement, and that thing happens again, the movement happens as well instantly, in real time, in the field.

• So a cascade doesn't just treat the past, but it treats the future as well.

Now that is extremely cool, don't you think?

So here is how you can trip a cascade on any major emotional movement that is a problem to your client - be it anger, or depression, anxiety or loss of faith, or whatever it is that has scarred your client in the past and would continue to dominate their lives in a very unhealthy way in the future.

First, you do exactly what I did earlier - you have them pick one incident that comes readily to mind. This is the indication that the client wants change on all levels; if the energy mind or the soul didn't want this change to happen, NOTHING WOULD COME TO MIND.

Teach them the relative movement just like we did by doing it once slowly to find the pathways, and then three or more times, faster and faster, so that they are learning how the movement works, and what they have to do to make it become this rushing wave all the way through and out, which washes that all away and leaves you clean and clear in an instances.

That's step one.

Step 2: More Examples, More Memories, More Movements

Here, we are going to ask the client to call up other examples of the same problem, the same painful movement, one at a time.

We will have them use the learnings from before to move this as quickly as possible, and as quickly as possible (the speed is vital in this or else you don't get that momentum you need for the cascade to break!) call up the next memory.

This becomes easier and easier as the memories begin to form a queue - it feels to me that they are literally queuing up for resolution, to experience this release.

At some point, something like a multiple orgasm occurs - the processing becomes too fast to keep up with it, it's gone on automatic pilot and the cascade is happening.

That's an absolutely amazing experience, both as the one who's having this, as being the one who was responsible for making it possible for the other to experience this.

Now find a partner and have a go at making them experience a real cascade.

Step 3: Check the Memories

Now that we've done that, we can do step 3.

This is known as conscious ratification; I prefer the term of conscious verification. That means that the conscious mind gets to be updated on what just happened in the energy system.

To do this, we are going to re-visit some of the memories we have treated and note how they are different now, and especially, how with the different feelings there come different decisions, a different wisdom.

Pick one of the memories that were a part of the cascade and enter it again.

What's different? What has changed? Have you changed? Have learned something?

That is the purpose - beyond the very real benefits of being able to do forgiveness, and to do it right! - of this workshop.

Cascades can be used for ANY often experienced or repeated emotional occurrence, to learn the movement that fixes them all, not just for the past, but also for the future.

Thus, you can use this pattern to change “the story of my life” - whatever that may be.

A Last Note

When you work with victims, and you take out the part where "it was their own fault", which is what we just did, the forgiveness issue tends to collapse completely.

• What I mean by this is that no further forgiveness work with the actual perpetrators needs to be done - the self forgiveness was, in fact, the only forgiveness that was needed to have learned how to do.

Self forgiveness is a much overlooked topic in addictions, bereavements, health and illness, relationships, parenting, and even accidents and all sorts of things we would never suspect to have an aspect of "it's all my own fault" about them.

It is certainly a powerful and healthy movement to have learned to make for yourself; and this topic having also being resolved for the future makes now room for doing things differently, and having space for new and unexpected futures to manifest.
